This is a dummy website and online shop set up to give you an idea of the kind of website and online shop you can get from the soon to be available awebapart.com professional sitebuilder service.
Don't worry, your site doesn't have to be pink, this is just the way we customised it for this site. Within the sitebuilder you can have control over the colour scheme to create a site which fits in with your company's branding colours. We gave this site a pink look to reflect a site aimed at ladies only fashions, and to show that the sitebuilder can customise the standard blue look of the default osCommerce shop.
osCommerce is a very popular e-commerce system, there are many websites based on it, some good, some bad. With our sitebuilder service, we have already done the technical work customising osCommerce into a more professional system for UK business, but you can still customise it's colour scheme (and layout to a certain extent) within the sitebuilder without requiring technical skills.
We have applied our own flavour, style and design rules to our implementation of osCommerce. Less is more, and as Leonardo Da Vinci once said "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication". To this end the osCommerce system has been simplified into a 2 column layout, and the bells and whistles that normally clutter up an osCommerce default site have been removed by default in our system (some features can be re-added within the sitebuilder).
Please bear in mind that the final sitebuilder system is not ready yet and this site is a work in progress. There are still some improvements we are planning to make to the sitebuilder and the osCommerce system before we launch. |
